This dance groups consist of talented Young Hopi students that live in Flagstaff (from the villages of Bacavi, Hotevilla, Shungopavi and Kykotsmovi) who are more than eager to learn and participate in Hopi dances and will be performing the Hopi Butterfly dance.

LOMAYAOMA DANCE GROUP
This talented tinny tot dance group from the Village of Shungopavi (2nd Mesa) will be performing the Hopi Eagle dance.

DERRICK SUWAIMA DAVIS & RAYAN POLEQUAPTEWA – HOOP DANCE
Derrick Suwaima Davis is a Native Arizonan, from the Hopi and Choctaw Nations. Suwaima, who began his Hoop Dancing participating in Pow Wows starting at the age of 3, through his participations, has won 7 World Championships for his Hoop Dancing. His Hopi heritage as he lives it now is strong and Suwaima is a loving father who provides for his family not only by means of the working but by living the Hopi way of life. He has a corn field to be proud of and provides guidance to his kids to learn Hopi ceremonial ways.

HOOYAPI DANCE GROUP
This talented dance group has Young Hopi Youth from the Village of Shungopavi (2nd Mesa) who will perform two different Hopi Social Dances, the Hopi Butterfly and Hopi Water Maiden dance.

This talented one-man-band shares through his music stories of culture from his Hopi and Tewa Heritage. He is from the village of Shungopavi and the Tewa village of Khap’o Owinge (Santa Clara Pueblo, NM). Ed’s culture is the greatest inspiration of his music. Ed is a drummer, a flautist and a guitarist/vocalist. Music is his livelihood and he lives by the mantra of keys and time signatures….
